About S235 Common Steels
S235JRA structural grade (S) with at minimum yield strength of 235 N/mm²m, the JR designation confirms that the steel has undergone longitudinal Chary V-Notch impact testing at 27J (Joules) at room temperature.
S235AR
A structural grade (S) with the same minimum yield strength of 235 N/mm²m, but supplied in an 'as rolled condition'.
S235 has good high yield and tensile strength though this strength suffers if the material is heat treated at temperatures exceeding 600°C
